REQUIREMENTS AND ELIGIBILITY FOR DESIGNATED ODOR TESTS AND SCENTWORK TRIALS
Requirements for Dogs

Requirements for Dogs
- Dogs participating in a Designated Odor Test (DOT) must be at least one (1) year of age.
- Dogs participating in a Scentwork Trial must be at least one (1) year of age.
- ALL dogs must appear to be healthy on the test or trial day.
- ALL dogs must have current updated vaccinations for rabies, canine distemper and canine parvovirus.
- ALL handlers must be current members and in good standing with the Philippine Association of Canine Scentwork (PACSW).
- Handlers participating in a DOT or Scentwork Trial must be at least twelve (12) years of age.
- ALL handlers must submit a registration form and a signed liability waiver to the PACSW Certifying Official before participating in a DOT or Scentwork Trial.
- ALL handlers less than eighteen (18) years of age must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian, and must present the waiver to the PACSW Certifying Official before the DOT or Scentwork Trial.
- ALL handlers must present their dog's updated vaccination record (duly signed by a licensed veterinarian) to the PACSW Certifying Official before participating in a DOT or Scentwork Trial.
- Any dog registered with the Philippine Canine Club, Inc (PCCI) and/or its affiliated clubs and organizations.
- A “Blue Dog” is eligible to compete in a DOT or Scentwork Trial. A "Blue Dog" is a dog that fulfills at least one of the following criteria: 1) a dog registered with the PCCI Canine Partners Listing, 2) a dog not registered with PCCI or its affiliated clubs and organizations, 3) a mixed breed dog, or 4) a hybrid dog.
- Female dogs in season (in heat) may attend a test or trial, but must wear diapers or pants to avoid contaminating the test area, search elements and test/trial grounds. Female dogs in season will run as the last dog in all tests or trials.
- Dogs and handlers with disabilities may take part in a test or trial provided advanced notice of at least two (2) weeks is given to PACSW and the trial committee, and significant changes to the test or trial element set-ups are not required. Minor adjustments may be made, at the trial judge's discretion, to accommodate a disability.
